Abstract

The volume presented in this review provides a clear and well-founded overview of the principles underlying modern language teaching, chiefly directed at undergraduate students in language teaching and teacher trainers. The author presents the subject within a cognitive framework that integrates academic research with classroom practice. The book highlights key principles of modern language education, such as the importance of high-quality input and meaningful activities. However, it presents some limitations in addressing the affective factors of language learning and lacks direct bibliographical references to facilitate further independent study. Despite some editorial shortcomings, the book is considered a valuable resource for language teacher education programmes.
