Writing with “Academic Style”: theoretical considerations and preliminary findings on the new frontiers of EAP

La investigación en inglés con fines académicos (EAP por sus siglas en inglés) ha aumentado en cuanto a formas, métodos y materiales de enseñanza y aprendizaje en las últimas décadas. La globalización del intercambio de conocimientos y la comunicación dentro de la comunidad académica, así como la inclusión de instituciones de enseñanza superior e investigación marginadas, han dado lugar a una evolución continua de muchos términos relacionados con el EAP. Sin embargo, aún quedan áreas poco exploradas de la investigación y la práctica del EAP, incluida la del “estilo académico”, una integración necesaria del EAP y de la enseñanza y la práctica de la escritura académica. El estudio presenta un estudio piloto consistente en el análisis cualitativo detallado de una colección de resúmenes de un seminario de doctorado sobre (auto)corrección de estilo académico. Mediante el empleo de un marco metodológico que combina la estilística, el análisis de errores, el estudio piloto pone de relieve errores estilísticos relevantes de la escritura académica y extrae inclusiones sobre los requisitos y las implicaciones de la introducción del estilo académico de la EAP.
