Abstract

This review aims to describe and critically evaluate the volume Un Alfabeto di 73 Lettere. Strategie per la Didattica Linguistica, by Paolo Torresan. The work’s topic and structure are outlined in the first section, where book’s three parts are briefly described. The second section delves into the contents and chapters of each part of the book. In the third section, potential readers of the book are identified. Finally, in the fourth and last section of the book, a critical evaluation is attempted, highlighting strengths and possible critical points.

Author Biography

Ruben Benatti, Università per Stranieri di Siena, Italia

Ruben Benatti is a postdoctoral researcher at the Università per Stranieri di Siena, where he studies English language teaching for blind and visually impaired learners using a contrastive approach. He completed his MA in Linguistics at the Universitá del Piemonte Orientale and his Ph.D. in Linguistics and teaching Italian as a second language at the Università per Stranieri di Siena. For the last three and a half years, he was a lecturer of Italian as a second language at the University of Szeged, where he also held courses in psycholinguistics, sociolinguistics and intercultural communication. As part of his post doc activity at the Università del Piemonte Orientale, he taught Italian and was responsible for and coordinator of the CILS certification exams. He also taught courses in Italian language and culture at the University of Padua and at the Polytechnic institutes of Turin and Milan, and he was a lecturer and teacher of Italian in several institutes and universities in Serbia, Turkmenistan, Australia, China, and Guatemala. He currently teaches online courses in Italian for The Really Great Teachers Company and collaborates with IT Service & Consultancy at Tata Consultancy Services in Budapest.
